Larry was scheduled to direct the Art Center of Citrus County's upcoming fall theater production at the Art Center Cultural Theatre in Hernando.
This production and all upcoming productions have been postponed due to Covid19 precautionary measures regarding social distancing.
Larry has been around theater his entire life, being the grandson of professional ballroom dancers. Having both parents in the Air Force, Larry moved around quite a bit, having lived in North Carolina, Hawaii, Wyoming, and Pennsylvania all by the time he was 12. Larry credits these moves with his adaptability on the stage. "Being in a new school or a new part of America every few years makes you very aware of people: their accents, behaviors, styles, differences, my observation was running rampant."
Larry wrote his first play at age 11, and performed as a puppeteer for many years at Pioneer Park in Wyoming. He studied theater at Penn State University and performed with the Penn State Thespians in many plays and was a member of Penn State's NO REFUND THEATER and the Penn State University cheerleading squad. A seasoned performer with dozens of plays and musicals under his belt, Larry considers his best moment in the theater world when he was awarded BEST ACTOR in his high school musical production of My Fair Lady alongside his now wife, Tiffany.
Here in Citrus County he has performed with Gulf Islands Civic Theater, Playhouse 19, and the Citrus County Art League where he was twice named Best Actor for his performances in SLEUTH and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. Larry taught theater classes for Citrus County at their community centers for many years, and instructed both beginner and seasoned actors at a performing arts school in Oxford Florida. He studied and performed at the CCAL Shakespeare in the Hills Festival for 3 years, appearing as King Oberon in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Simple in The Merry Wives of Windsor, and as Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet. He directed the Art Theater 2018 season opening play of Love, Sex, & the IRS, and will return to direct their 2019 season opener of Love, Lies, & the Doctor's Dilemma. He also starred in the choreographed dance "Art is Life" named Dancer Magazine's Dance of the Month.
Larry currently works in DNA Oncology and is the proud father of 3, Sastia, Blyth, and Sagan. Larry relishes coming home to the stage once again.
